ArtIA: Towards a Commons for AI in Digital Creation, unites artists and cultural workers to advance a commons-based alternative to the dominant, Silicon Valley model of AI. Our approach is rooted in collective ownership, cooperative infrastructures, and creative reappropriation.

Over the course of 16 months, the stakeholder consultations identified seven central themes to be considered in shaping the development and integration of AI in the arts and cultural sectors. These themes served as a framework for mapping the most pressing challenges faced by artists, cultural organizations, and communities engaging with AI.
