Jeep × MUTEK.JP collaboration: seven e-Creators cohorts for the Renegade 4xe, award selection of Manami Sakamoto and Sakiko Osawa, and a follow-up Grand Cherokee campaign.
In autumn 2020, as Jeep introduced its plug-in hybrid Renegade 4xe in Japan, MUTEK.JP joined the brand for Jeep® Real Hybrid e-Creators—a campaign that asked digital artists to answer a simple provocation: what does new freedom and adventure sound and look like now?
Seven artists and artist groups became e-Creators, each making an audiovisual work for the Renegade 4xe. Through public voting and a special jury, Manami Sakamoto and Sakiko Osawa were selected to continue as Jeep e-Creators, and went on to shape a follow-up campaign for the All-New Grand Cherokee—carrying the collaboration from one generation of the lineup into the next.
Seven artists / groups took part in the Renegade 4xe campaign:
Works from the cohort were published on Jeep’s campaign pages and documented across the RealStyle by Jeep® series (Vol.1–4) and the MUTEK.JP news announcement.
After a public vote (14 September–12 October 2020) and special selection, Manami Sakamoto and Sakiko Osawa were chosen from the cohort as Jeep e-Creators. The award ceremony is documented in this video:
As selected e-Creators, Manami Sakamoto and Sakiko Osawa were tasked with creating a campaign for the All-New Grand Cherokee, extending the digital-art collaboration beyond the Renegade 4xe cohort. Jeep’s e-Creators experience page presents that follow-up work: https://jeep-real.jp/experience/e-creators/
