Japan Media Arts Festival x MUTEK.JP - Art & The Intelligent Machine

The symposium and showcase “Art & The Intelligent Machine” explored the impacts that AI has on various artistic practices. Taking place at Miraikan, the symposium went beyond common stereotypes of artificial intelligence and explored practical real-world approaches to this new and often misunderstood technology.

Maurice, N. Fuchs, and S. Iwanami presented Art & The Intelligent Machine with the Japan Media Arts Festival and MUTEK.JP at Miraikan, Tokyo, 1–2 June 2019. Day one held the Curating Machines panel, an AI-music keynote, and Performing AI live sets; day two was an audiovisual showcase. The existing Curating Machines calendar row remains the panel session.
